I agree with some of the reviews that it isn't superbly organized. I wish I had purchased the previous edition as people seem to say it is so much better- but I thought a new edition- must be better right? Anyway- I never saw the previous edition- but I will take your word for it if it's better organized. Using it to study for CHT exam. I do thoroughly enjoy the website component, however.
Considered THE CHT exam preparation 2 volume set! Relevant topics. Writing could be better (editing-wise), especially because the articles (chapters) are considered some of the best in this field.
Of course, the information is unparalleled by any other source for hand therapy. The kindle version's find feature is lacking. I do not like that I can not determine which page I am on either. Why aren't there page numbers on the Kindle version?? Or where do I find them,??
INformation is good but it is spread out through out the book. Lot of information is on the online links so it is a hassell to go back and forth between the book and the computer to get all the information. The online link also logs you off periodically so its annoying to keep on going back and logging in after short periods.
I love this book--- while it's not the best for quick access reference, I love it when I'm doing intense research regarding a diagnosis. It's thorough and I feel much more confident after reading this book. I have the kindle version, which makes it easier to have with me at all times. However, it's not as easy to access the index. I have my own method of looking up diagnoses in this book, which seems to work well. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone serious about getting into hand therapy.
Apparently this is the bible of hand rehabilitation. I can see why. Very comprehensive. As a lay person, obviously difficult reading - but well worth the struggle to understand.
good reference
This book is a must have for any OT or PT who wants to be a hand therapist. This is referred to at the hand therapy "BIBLE" and for good reason. Newest edition includes the shoulder and sports rehab which are both helpful.
